On the performance requirements of UAV connectors
Time:2020年09月02日 Browse:

When evaluating the long-term total cost of users and the application environment requirements, drone designers must specify high-performance interconnection technologies, such as MIL-DTL-38999 (environment-resistant fast separation high-density small circular connectors), MIL-C -26482 (Environment-resistant, quick-separation, high-reliability circular connector) or other military-grade connectors. These high-performance connectors can achieve the following goals for UAV designers: increase working life, reduce installation and maintenance costs, reduce testing and qualification costs, and improve reliability and safety.

Since the range of movement and continuous navigation capabilities of drones are key factors, and in fact, "man-portable" drones are important in tactical settings, the designer of the drone system must also minimize interconnected components The quality and size of the drone to free up space for UAV payload technology, communications, flight control and propulsion systems. UAVs, whether large or small, are inherently sensitive to size and quality, which makes interconnection technology a key element in the entire design process.

The requirements faced by land-based or sea-based UAV systems are mostly the same: improving working life and reliability, but also encountering unique environmental challenges and connector packaging issues, such as fast-locking and on-site cleaning capabilities and chemical resistance . In addition, like space-based UAVs, land-based or sea-based UAV systems can benefit greatly from the reduction in size and mass.
